What I do:
I've been serving as a creative consultant across the country since 2011, based out of Lancaster, PA. I provide story-telling imagery, portraiture, and creative expertise, for clients.
How I do it:
I'm here to convey your story, message, or product to your chosen audience by connecting and inspiring them through empathetic imagery. My philosophy is that communicative empathy is the infrastructure of successful story-telling art.
I believe well-rounded experience in life creates a well-rounded, resourceful, empathetic artist; I'm informed from a fifteen year dance background, outdoor education, agricultural experience, writing, and various historical academia, producing storytelling skills of epic, or intimate, imaginative representation.
I earned my BFA in Illustration at Pennsylvania College of Art & Design in Lancaster, PA, mentored under award-winning fantasy illustrator Gary Lippincott, and worked with traditional painting master Ken Laager.
Why I do it:
I'm infatuated with history and mythos, utilizing the age-old visual language, working in tandem with the human experience, to contribute to the tapestry of our creative saga.
Illuminating stories old or new, of epic or intimate scale, is all valid, all worth the telling. It is the artist's responsibility, their 'wheelhouse', to bridge the gap between their expertise and the worth of the story.
As the Irish story-tellers say, we are more eager to accept Truth when it is accompanied by Story.
When I'm not in Studio mode, collaborating with other creative professionals or educating in the arts, I love to explore new environments and culture, being in Nature, and spending quality time with my favorite people - all my priorities and inspiration. I'm an avid bibliophile and home cook.
It always comes back to the art.
